Applications are invited for the appointment to two continuing (tenure track) positions at Associate Professorial level/Senior Lecturer/and or Lecturer in Project Management Graduate Programme or PMGP at the School of Civil Engineering, within the Faculty of Engineering and IT.

The Project Management Graduate Program (PMGP) is designed to cater to the needs of candidates in gaining insights about approaches to conducting project-oriented empirical study, modeling and analysis of government, non-government and cross-national projects and methodologies for the design and implementation of integrated set of resources for conducting experimental analysis of project success and failures, which would facilitate sharing, learning, and communication of project outcomes to managers. The Research Group on Complex Systems in Project Management focuses on social networks theory and analytical methods, coordination theory, sociobiology, non linear systems dynamic theory, chaos theory and complexity theory in organisations, complex adaptive systems theory and self-organisation theory. We also have joint research initiatives with CRC Bushfire, CRC Capital Markets, National ICT Australia and other organisations such as HCF, NSW Fire, NSW Health and Hunter Area Health Services, and Office of Emergency Services.

This is an opportunity to lead the development of cross faculty educational and research program in Project management and provide representation to industry both locally and internationally. You will be required to supervise postgraduate student research projects, to establish strong research programs in their area of expertise, to apply for external research funding, to assist with course development and administration, to contribute to administrative, professional and community service, and to contribute to academic scholarship. You will be able to teach a number of courses within our PMGP. As an Associate Professor, you would be able to develop and sustain research and teaching excellence in Project Management. You would further be required to provide sustained leadership and oversee the educational, research and industry engagement in key areas at the School, Faculty and University level.

The two positions are full-time continuing (tenure track), subject to completion of a satisfactory probation and confirmation period for new appointees. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of appointment. Remuneration package will be competitive. Some assistance towards travelling cost and visa sponsorship may be available for the successful appointees if required and level of appointment will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
